Service & repair

There's almost nothing to do. When there is, we come to you.

Robotic mowers ask less of you in a year than a gas mower asks in a month. But we're the authorized dealer, so when something does need attention it happens at your property — not through a shipping label and a queue.

Start here

Blades every two to three months, a clean now and then, and software that updates itself. That's the whole routine.

No oil, no filters, no spark plugs, no sharpening, no fuel, no winterising — this is Florida — and no trips to a repair shop. Which means most of our service work is warranty attention or the occasional accident, not routine upkeep. If a salesperson has made robotic mowing sound like a maintenance commitment, they were describing a different machine.

The routine

What it needs, and what it doesn't

What a robotic mower needs
  • Blades every 2–3 months. Three small screws, about five minutes. We supply them and we'll show you how, or we'll do it.
  • A clean now and then. The iQ Series is hose-washable — that's the whole job. The professional EPOS machines get brushed down instead.
  • Software updates. Downloaded and installed by the mower itself, over the air. You don't do anything.
  • A seasonal height change. From your phone, in about ten seconds.
  • An eye on the app. It tells you if something needs attention. Usually it doesn't.
What it doesn't need
  • Oil changes, air filters, spark plugs
  • Gas, fuel stabiliser, or a can in the garage
  • Blade sharpening and balancing
  • Pull cords, carburettors, spring starting trouble
  • Belts, spindles and deck bearings
  • Winterising — this is Florida
  • Trips to the repair shop
What we do

Everything, at your property

Being the authorized dealer is the practical difference. Warranty work, diagnostics and repairs happen where the machine is.

Installation

Survey, install, commission

Site survey, dock sited, power supplies connected to your existing outlet, satellite reference station placed, zones and schedules mapped, cutting height set for your grass, first cut supervised.

Warranty

Warranty work on site

We're the authorized Husqvarna dealer, so warranty claims go through us — no boxing the machine up, no shipping, no waiting in someone else's queue. The diagnostic fee covers finding the fault and making the case to Husqvarna. Once it's approved, parts and labour are covered.

$100diagnostic · repair then covered
Repair

Out-of-warranty repair

Impact damage, water ingress, wheel and motor problems, positioning faults. Same $100 diagnostic, then a written estimate for parts and labour before we do anything. The diagnostic is separate from the repair — it isn't credited against it, and we'd rather say so here than at the door.

Boundary wire

Wire break tracing and repair

On wired machines, a single break stops everything and gives you almost no clue where it is. We trace it, splice it properly, and re-test the loop. Long runs and buried-under-hardscape breaks take longer — we stop and call you before the first hour is out if it's heading that way, so you decide whether to keep looking or replace the run.

Routine

Blades and seasonal setup

Blade changes, a proper clean, height adjustment for the season, a check over the dock and reference station. Book a single visit, or take the annual plan below and stop thinking about it.

Re-mapping and relocation

New beds, a pool going in, a fence moved, or you're taking the mower to a new house. Zones get rebuilt and the machine gets set up again properly.

Machines you bought elsewhere

Bought online, inherited with the house, or a brand we don't sell? We'll still look at it. Parts availability varies, and we'll tell you honestly if it isn't worth repairing.

Quotedper job
Do it yourself

Changing blades takes five minutes

We'd rather you knew how. It's the only routine job on the machine, it's genuinely easy, and a customer who can do it themselves calls us for the things that actually need us.

If you'd rather not, that's what the maintenance plan is for. But nobody should feel they're locked into a service contract over three screws.

Blade change, start to finish

~5 minutes
  1. Stop the mower and press the stop button so the hood releases. Take it off the lawn onto a hard surface.
  2. Turn it over. On a towel or a piece of cardboard so you don't scuff the body.
  3. Undo three screws. One per blade, on the cutting disc. A star-head screwdriver, nothing special.
  4. Swap all three blades and all three screws. Always as a set — a mismatched disc runs out of balance and wears the motor.
  5. Check the disc spins freely, turn it back over, and put it down. That's it.

Every three months is the usual interval on Florida turf, sooner if you're cutting through sandy patches. New machines ship with a supply in the box, and we keep blades on the shelf in Tampa rather than ordering them in.

Optional

The maintenance plan, if you'd rather not think about it

Plenty of our customers never take one, and we'd rather say that than pretend it's necessary. But if you'd sooner the whole thing was somebody else's job, the annual plan puts the routine on a schedule we keep track of — four visits a year, and we turn up without being chased:

$300 per year · per machine · four scheduled visits
  • Blades replaced at every visit — blades included, not billed on top
  • A proper clean and an inspection of the machine, dock and reference station
  • Firmware kept current, and a look at the cutting history for anything odd
  • Seasonal cutting height adjustment for your grass type
  • $75 diagnostic instead of $100 any time you need us out for a fault

Four blade changes a year is the interval these machines actually want on Florida turf, so the plan is mostly buying the visits rather than buying the parts. Commercial sites nearly always take one — with several machines it's simply easier. Homeowners split about evenly, and neither answer is wrong.

Common questions

Before you call

My mower has stopped and shows an error. What now?

Most errors clear themselves — the machine is usually telling you it found something in its way, lost signal briefly, or needs lifting back onto the lawn. Check the app first; it explains the message in plain language. If it keeps recurring, call us with the error text and we'll usually know what it is before we arrive.

Why is there a diagnostic fee if the machine is under warranty?

Because finding the fault is the work. Husqvarna covers the repair once a defect is identified and the claim is approved — it doesn't cover the trip out, the testing, or the time spent making the case on your behalf. The $100 covers that, whichever way the diagnosis goes. If it turns out to be a warranty defect, everything after it — parts and labour — is covered. If it isn't, you get a written estimate and you decide. It's $75 if you're on a maintenance plan.

Does the diagnostic fee come off the repair bill?

No, and we'd rather tell you that here than on your driveway. The diagnostic is its own piece of work — often the harder half — and the repair estimate is separate from it. You're never committed to the repair after a diagnosis; plenty of people take the report, hear the number, and decide differently.

Do I need to bring it to you?

No. We come to the machine. That's the practical difference between a dealer twenty minutes away and a box bought online — there's no shipping, no queue, and nobody asking you to drop it off.

I didn't buy it from you. Will you still service it?

Yes. Bought online, inherited with a house, or a brand we don't carry — we'll still look at it. Parts availability varies by brand and age, and we'll tell you honestly if a repair isn't worth doing rather than take your money for it.

What's actually covered by the warranty?

Husqvarna's warranty covers manufacturing defects. It doesn't cover impact damage, water ingress from pressure washing, or wear items like blades and wheels. We handle the claim either way — you don't deal with Husqvarna, you deal with us.

My wired mower has stopped and says there's no loop signal. How bad is that?

Usually not very. A boundary wire break is almost always a single point — an edger, an aerator, a fence post, a tree root — and once it's found the splice takes minutes. The unpredictable part is the finding, which is why that work is billed hourly at $100 rather than as a flat job. Most are inside an hour. If yours is looking like the exception, we stop and call you before the hour is out so you can decide whether to keep tracing or simply replace that run of wire. And if you're replacing much of it anyway, that's worth a conversation about going wire-free.

Do these need winterising?

Not here. In colder states the machine comes in for the winter, gets charged and stored. In Tampa the grass keeps growing and so does the mower. If you're going away for a long stretch, we'll tell you what to do with it.

We've landscaped and the yard's changed. Is that a problem?

No, and it's one of the better arguments for wire-free. New beds, a pool, a fence moved — the boundaries are redrawn in the app rather than dug up and relaid. We'll re-map it, or talk you through doing it yourself if you'd prefer.

Tell us what's happening

Call and describe it — most problems are a two-minute conversation, and knowing the model and the error message means we usually arrive with the right part already in the van. If you'd rather write it down, the service form asks four questions.
